December 1, 2009 marks the official release of Andrew McKenna Lee’s Solar/Electric, a new EP featuring works for electric guitar. In addition to debut recordings of two original studio pieces - Sunrise from the Bottom of the Sea and One Thought Among Many - the collection also contains a brand new recording of Steve Reich’s seminal masterpiece, Electric Counterpoint. Click here for the official press release, and here for a nice, 4-minute audio medley featuring some tasty morsels.
To celebrate the release, Andrew will be performing Sunrise and Electric Counterpoint on a bill with new music stalwarts Newspeak, and Joseph Branciforte & Chris Botta’s Double Quartet, December 4th, 2009 at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
